WOW Day three and our kiddies are looking a little tired! Me too! A few reminders for the rest of the week: • Please check Book bags each day for new homework. – A reminder to complete this with your child together. Please sign the homework so your child can collect stickers towards a prize box reward after 20 nights of homework completion! • On Fridays – a homework learning book will come home with an activity and / or poem to learn and complete over the weekend. • We will also go to the library on Fridays and I have sewn some Library Book bags for the children. Please protect the two library books that go home and ensure they remain safe until they are returned the following Friday to be able to get new ones. • Thursday: Matariki Liturgy 12:15 in the school hall (all parents and families are welcomed) • Friday: Library / Sausage Sizzle and Juicies for sale ($1.50 each) / School assembly (new children welcomed) Life Education You may have noticed the Life Education van has arri

Term 3 / Week 1 26th July 2021 Dear Kakano Parents and caregivers, Welcome to Kakano 8! It has been a busy first day, so I finally have time to write our second blog post. This blog will come out each week (usually on a Sunday evening / first thing on a Monday morning). The blog will contain important information for our children for each week coming. I had a great time with your children today, getting to know each of them better and will look forward to continuing to find out more about them as we begin their school journey together. A little about me: My name is Mrs Jane Trask and I am married to Richard. We have four sons aged between 6 years and 24 years old!   My family loves sport, summertime and water activities.   We are a very active family. I have been teaching in New Zealand High Schools for the past 15 years and I am so excited to begin my second year of Primary teaching this year at St Mary's. I love to dance, be creative and enjoy music and arts

Welcome!! Week 1 Term 3

A lovely warm welcome to our first five Kakano 8 students who are starting school this week! I can not wait to get to know all the children better as we begin this schooling journey together. This blog is where I will share weekly preparations and exciting updates as well as another way to communicate with parents. These blogs often have helpful reminders of what is happening each week and anything extra the children need to get organised with. Im not sure this blog post will format correctly so apologies if it looks a bit funny this first week! The teachers spent their holidays participating in professional learning and are keen to begin implementing our new learning with the children. We also have been busy changing things up in our classroom and are excited to see what the children think of their new space. What is happening this week… Monday: Normal school day Tuesday: Normal school day Wednesday: Normal school day Thursday: Matariki Liturgy 12:15 in the school hall (all
