 Dear Kakano 8 Whanau,

Please bring your togs tomorrow just incase we get a chance to go swimming.

I will be sending book bags home tonight with heavy class books and art folders and a little pressie home tomorrow or Thursday at 12pm. Reminder this is breakable so please pick up from Mrs Trask for your child.

Midweek Post - Week 9 - Term 3

Wow! It has been a busy week in Kakano 8 with two new students starting. We welcome Evin and Catherine to our Kakano 8 Whanau.  I have noticed that the children are looking and acting more tired this week. Try to get a good bedtime routine happening with a regular bed time. It is normal when starting school to need extra sleep at times. There is lots of information to take in as well as new routines and friends to enjoy. Check your child also has enough food to sustain them through out the day.  I know that my children's lunchboxes do not look that flash, but try to give a mixture of healthy and snack type foods. Also a drink bottle with water especially in Level 2 is helpful.  Reminders for the rest of the week: Thursday - Nalu day  Friday - Sausage Sizzle and Juicie day  ($1.50each),  Golden Time and Library - Please bring your books back. Midweek WK1 T4

 Wow what a busy start to our Term with swimming everyday! A few reminders: We swim every afternoon at 2.10-2.30pmish - This sometimes means we are in a mad panic to finish at 2.45pm after helping everyone to get changed and do our end of day prayers. Please take some time to show your children how to do their sandals up and put their clothes on etc. WE ONLY SWIM IN ODD WEEKS: Wk1,3,5,7,9 Swimming is about confidence and water safety more than actual swimming lessons etc. As you can appreciate we are trying to keep 19 children safe in the water so we do not have specific time allocated to particular swimming skills.  Homework: for our new parents - homework is sent home daily in our book bags: this will usually contain a reading book( on Mondays and Wednesdays), orange reading log to record homework and other tasks that may need to be completed.  The homework learning / poem book also comes home on a Friday each week.  Kiaora whanau, Firstly thank you so much for trusting me to teach your children these past two terms. It has been an absolute pleasure and I have enjoyed getting to know them all.  Thank you kindly for the gifts you have sent my way in the past few days.  Thank you also to Mrs Naomi and Mr Alan for their support in our classroom.  I will be updating the Educa photos from our past few weeks in the next couple of days.
