 Dear Kakano 8 Whanau,

Please bring your togs tomorrow just incase we get a chance to go swimming.

I will be sending book bags home tonight with heavy class books and art folders and a little pressie home tomorrow or Thursday at 12pm. Reminder this is breakable so please pick up from Mrs Trask for your child.

  Week 2 Kia ora Whānau We hope you have enjoyed the long weekend! Thank you for continuing to follow the Covid Alert Level 2 procedures. Last week’s blog post has a brief outline to remind you of what level 2 looks like for our Kākano students. Raffles Thank you for your support with the selling of our PTA’s Raffle Books. The books must be returned tomorrow Tuesday sold or unsold. Swimming This week Kākano 8 is NOT swimming. FYI Early Finish Tues 2nd November Tuesday 2nd November at 2.30pm, our staff, along with teachers from St Michael’s Rotorua, St Mary’s Putararu and Bishop Edward Gaines in Tokoroa are involved in Titiro Whakamuri kia haere whakamua Professional Development. We will need to finish school at 2.15pm on that Tuesday so I ask that you pick your child up at 2.15pm. If you require after school care you can ring Maryanne Roling from Glenholme Afterschool Care. Week 2 / T3

Kia Orana, this week is Cook Island Language Week. To celebrate this we are learning a prayer and some basic sayings in Cook Island Maori. Here is a video of the Pasifika leaders saying the prayer: We had such a great week last week and all students seem to be settling in well! I have been impressed at their willingness to try new things and their behaviour has been exemplary!! This week all of the classes are seeing Harold the giraffe in the Life Education truck. We are learning about our bodies and how to look after them. Week 5 - Online Learning Term 3 2021

  Kia Ora Kākano Whanau Welcome to a very different Week 5.  Please see information below on how to support your child’s learning whilst at home.   Parent Meeting: You will receive an email invitation to meet with me tomorrow.  This is an opportunity for parents to ask questions and for me to offer support as we head into online learning.  Please note this meeting will be for all parents to attend.  I will set up a time to meet with students later in the week. Educa All children have an Educa account.  Teachers will be sharing daily tasks for you to complete alongside your child.  This could include maths, early literacy activities, reading, writing, RE, physical challenges.  At the start of the week you will receive a Bingo Board which will give you some ideas on activities your child could complete.  If you do not have access to Educa already please email me janet@stmarysrotorua.school.nz Y ou can share what your child is getting up to with me via Educa.  Check out the link to find
