Happy Wednesday Everyone!

A few reminders for the rest of the week: 

Homework:

  • Highlighted entries in the Orange homework books are the books I am wanting your child to read themselves with little help from you. They can use their fingerspelling techniques to sound out the words and sounds we have been working on in class. 
  • Non highlighted entries will remain with the instruction "Share read" which is reading together. 
Library books:
Thanks to those who have returned overdue books. ALL Library books need to be returned by this Friday at our normal library visit for the annual stock take. Thanks.

Golden Time:
We will be playing in the sprinkler / hose on Friday if hot and sunny so please bring togs and towels on FRIDAY only.  Ill have a back up in place incase it is cold and wet. 

Friday:
Sausage sizzle and juicie day - $1.50each
Nalu day 
Library visit

Parents to make a time to meet with me: I will send an email out to the following parents (if I don't hear back through this blog) to make an informal meeting time to discuss their child's first round of testing (5.1) and how they are settling into school. This time around it involves the parents of:  Evin, Nis Rose, John, Emma, Aion, Kanvi, and Catherine. This will take no longer than 5-10 minutes either before or after school at a day / time that suits you.  Please email me or msg me if you want to book in.

  Week 2 Kia ora Whānau We hope you have enjoyed the long weekend! Thank you for continuing to follow the Covid Alert Level 2 procedures. Last week’s blog post has a brief outline to remind you of what level 2 looks like for our Kākano students. Raffles Thank you for your support with the selling of our PTA’s Raffle Books. Week 2 / T3

Kia Orana, this week is Cook Island Language Week. To celebrate this we are learning a prayer and some basic sayings in Cook Island Maori. Here is a video of the Pasifika leaders saying the prayer: We had such a great week last week and all students seem to be settling in well! I have been impressed at their willingness to try new things and their behaviour has been exemplary!! This week all of the classes are seeing Harold the giraffe in the Life Education truck. We are learning about our bodies and how to look after them. Week 5 - Online Learning Term 3 2021

  Kia Ora Kākano Whanau Welcome to a very different Week 5.  Please see information below on how to support your child’s learning whilst at home.   Parent Meeting: You will receive an email invitation to meet with me tomorrow.  This is an opportunity for parents to ask questions and for me to offer support as we head into online learning.  Please note this meeting will be for all parents to attend.  I will set up a time to meet with students later in the week. Educa All children have an Educa account.  Teachers will be sharing daily tasks for you to complete alongside your child.  This could include maths, early literacy activities, reading, writing, RE, physical challenges.  At the start of the week you will receive a Bingo Board which will give you some ideas on activities your child could complete.  If you do not have access to Educa already please email me janet@stmarysrotorua.school.nz Y ou can share what your child is getting up to with me via Educa.  Check out the link to find
