Week 3 Term 3 :-)

 Week 3


Today is the  Feast Day of Mary MacKillop and we will be celebrating this on Friday.  We celebrate this with  Mass on Friday at 12pm.  Parents and families are welcome to join us.  We have other fun activities to celebrate with the children during the day.


Please remember school starts at 8:45am.  The teachers mark the roll  at this time. If your children arrive after this time they need to go to the office as they are late. A reminder too that students need to arrive after 8.15am in the morning.


Keeping Ourselves Safe

There is a community hui at St Mary's School on Monday 9 August, 5.15-6pm, in Room 14, where I will explain what the Keeping Ourselves Safe programme entails, and share some tips about keeping your young ones safe. You are encouraged to attend.


Next Sunday, the parish has a Māori Miha (Māori Mass) at 10.00 am followed by a procession carrying the Statue of Mother Mary around the Church and our school. All students from the schools are invited to join the procession with their parents at 11.00 am in front of St Mary’s Church. There is a shared lunch after the procession that everyone is invited to and families are asked to bring a plate to share.

Wednesday: Normal school day

Thursday: Nalu day

Friday: Library / Sausage Sizzle and Juicies for sale ($1.50 each) 

School Mass 12pm

  Week 2 Kia ora Whānau We hope you have enjoyed the long weekend! Thank you for continuing to follow the Covid Alert Level 2 procedures. Week 2 / T3

Kia Orana, this week is Cook Island Language Week. To celebrate this we are learning a prayer and some basic sayings in Cook Island Maori. Here is a video of the Pasifika leaders saying the prayer: We had such a great week last week and all students seem to be settling in well! I have been impressed at their willingness to try new things and their behaviour has been exemplary!! This week all of the classes are seeing Harold the giraffe in the Life Education truck. We are learning about our bodies and how to look after them. Week 10 - Term 3

  Week 10 / T3 Kia Ora Kākano Whanau, Well done everyone on making it safe and sound for Week 10.  It has been a busy and strange term with Lockdown and Online Learning.  We thank you once again for your cooperation and support during this time and into our current Level 2 restrictions.  St Vincent de Paul Liturgy will be on Thursday. Catholic Schools’ Day.   Catholic Schools Day is Wednesday. Thanks to Mrs Hall and her team for organising the day. Catholic Schools Day is about celebrating our unique Catholic Character, in faith, excellence and service. It is another opportunity to celebrate the taonga of Catholic Education for which we are kaitiaki.
